Renew Retreats Launch Party: The evening in photos

On Saturday, August 10 we hosted a party in Vancouver to celebrate the launch of Renew Retreats and our new website. Here is a look back at the evening in photos.

Thank you to Alison Boulier for photographing the evening!

GUESTS START TO ARRIVE

We hosted the launch party at Movement108 - an intimate fitness studio in South Granville and our hike club partner. Guests began arriving at 6:30 pm and the atmosphere was buzzing! They were greeted by volunteers and invited to enter our raffle for 10 different giveaways from our event partners.

Everyone set up their yoga mat and enjoyed a cup of WOASH tea while they waited for the yoga class to start.

YOGA FOR HIKERS

After a short welcome from our founder Danielle, we kicked off the launch party with an all levels yoga-for-hikers class led by Vancouver teacher Jasmina Egeler. We moved, sweat, and stretched for 45 minutes together.

TIME TO EAT

No Renew Retreats event - party, workshop, or hike - is complete without some tasty eats and drinks. As the yoga class wrapped up, more guests started to arrive (we had close to 70 people join us for the party) and our vendors were ready to go!

We had Backcountry Wok sampling dehydrated Asian meals (the Thai green curry is our favourite), NuIT Nutrition sampling their super-powered almond butter (we always throw a few in our hiking backpack), Shift Shakes sampling their power pops (the perfect sweet treat), five flavours of Bucha Brew to try, and more WOASH tea to go around.

There were also TurF treats and snacks on hand to enjoy. Have you tried their Everyday Cookie? Put down your computer, go get yourself one, and thank us later.

CONNECTING WITH COMMUNITY

Danielle will be the first to tell you! When we opened up registration for the Renew Retreats Launch Party we were a little worried not many people would attend - being a brand new business and all. Well, we were quickly proven wrong and were blown away by the support of the community. After spending several months building the business behind our laptop, we were excited to meet so many new faces in real life. Even better was watching party guests and other local business owners connect with each other!

HOW RENEW RETREATS CAME TO BE

Once everyone had a chance to enjoy the snacks, our founder Danielle ‘took the stage’ to officially welcome all the guests and share how Renew Retreats came to be. You can read our business story here.

She also excitedly reminded guests to take a picture in front of our plant wall provided by Plant Therapy and use our Renew Retreats Instagram frame. We are tempted to bring the frame on all of our future hikes, but may need to find a more transportable version!

GIVEAWAY TIME

Next it was time to draw the winners for our 10 giveaway prizes! Thank you to our prize partners: Backcountry Wok, Bluebird Provisions, It’s Blume, Plant Therapy, Shift Shakes, Somerset Moss, WOASH Wellness, Body Energy Club, and Abeego.

Guests resumed chatting and eating and the evening slowly began to wind down. No one left empty-handed - we had goodie bags on hand filled with surprises from our event partners.

OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

And with that, Renew Retreats was officially launched! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the start of the business than an evening of yoga, local eats, and all things hiking and wellness, with all of you. Thank you to everyone who supported the party from near and far!

A few weeks later we hosted our first one-day retreat. You can read more about our day on Bowen Island here.
